Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2016 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the eleventh edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2016) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. In Round 1, there were 1475 candidate images. There are 58 finalists in Round 2, comprised of the top 30 overall as well as the top #1 and #2 from each sub-category.

In the final round, you may vote for just one or maximal three image to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 2 will end on 20 April 2017, 23:59:59 UTC.

Category:Peanut farming by country

1. Farming covers more than just the fields, but also the processing of the field crops. See this picture, it shows no field.

Wiki Loves Earth 2017 - Danke, und wie geht es weiter?

Hallo Atamari,

vielen Dank für Deine Teilnahme am Fotowettbewerb Wiki Loves Earth Deutschland. Damit hast Du ein Stück Natur in Deiner Region dokumentiert und Wikipedia geholfen, andere darüber zu informieren.

Dieses Jahr wurden 24.000 Fotos eingereicht, im vorigen Jahr waren es noch 18.000. Bei der Teilnehmerzahl (1063) wurde der Rekord vom Vorjahr nur knapp verpasst.

Um die große Zahl von Bildern angemessen zu bewältigen, suchen wir weitere Helfer für die Vorjury, zum Kategorisieren oder zum Einfügen der Bilder in die Artikel und Listen der Wikipedia.

Eine Jury wird Anfang Juli auf einer Sitzung in Fulda die besten Bilder auswählen. Nach dem Zeitplan sollen die Top100 am 15. Juli 2017 veröffentlicht werden. Kurz danach werden die Gewinner benachrichtigt.

Wir möchten auf Wiki Loves Earth Biosphere Reserves hinweisen. Bei diesem Wettbewerb können bis Ende Juni Bilder von Biosphärenreservaten aus aller Welt eingereicht werden. Selbstverständlich darf man das ganze Jahr über Bilder zu beliebigen Themen bei Wikimedia Commons hochladen, nicht nur wenn ein Wettbewerb läuft...

Du hast die Kategorie zur Löschung vorgeschlagen. Leider ist sie nicht leer, und selbst wenn ich sie löschen würde, wäre sie vermutlich sehr schnell wiederhergestellt. Remember that scopes are supposed to represent what people might be looking for when searching for an image (and not to be a description of the images content) – I think if someone wants to find an image to put at the top of a wikipedia article about the stadium, this is exactly what they would want to get. Hilfe

Hallo Atamari, beim Sichten meiner alten Dias habe ich noch zwei aus Wuppertal vom September 1975 gefunden. Beide sind wohl aus der Sonnenstraße in Oberbarmen gemacht worden, und zwar in Richtung Nordwesten. Auf einem ist ein Bolzplatz, im Hintergrund ist u.a. der Kamin an Vor der Beule. Das zweite zeigt ein altes Fabrikgebäude mit Schornstein, ganz im Hintergrund scheint mir Mollenkotten zu liegen. Kannst Du mir helfen, diese Bilder genauer zu lokalisieren?

Das Eckhaus im Bild "Bolzplatz" ist Schwarzbach 170. Das ist bei Google Earth gut zu erkennen. Auch die Häuser links und rechts im Hintergrund kann man finden. Nur den Bolzplatz sehe ich nicht. Die Blickrichtung scheint über Schwarzbach 170 genau nach Norden zu gehen.

Im zweiten Bild, sind die Häuser Schwarzbach 161, 163, 165, 167. Die Fabrikgebäude konnte ich nicht finden. Die Böschung und dahinter das Feld ist auch heute in Google Earth sichtbar. Vielleicht kann User:Morty war sagen? --Atamari (talk) 17:18, 15 August 2017 (UTC)

Anfrage vom 23.10.2017

Hallo Atamari,

meine Denkmalfoto-Dateien benenne ich mit der Adresse aus der Denkmäler-Liste (sowie gegebenenfalls einem Zusatz). Bei der Benennug der Fotos für die Objekte Am Buschhäuschen 37 und Am Buschhäuschen 39 ist mir eine Verwechslung der Hausnummern unterlaufen.

Du bist ja ein alter Hase und lädst seit vielen Jahren Bilder hoch und scheinst Dich auch mit der Handhabung der Wiki-Werkzeuge gut auszukennen. Als Neuling habe ich, statt für mein Problem ein Rename anzufordern, die Bilder unter korrigiertem Namen erneut hochzuladen versucht, was der Hochlade-Assistent aber mit einem Duplikat-Verweis verhinderte. Daraufhin habe ich die Bilder ein klein wenig beschnitten, weshalb die Fotos mit korrekter Adresse keine hundert-, sondern nur neunundneunzigprozentige Kopien sind.

Das falsche Foto ist "Wuppertal, Am Buschhäuschen 39, Gartenhaus.jpg". Für die ebenfalls falsch benannten Dateien "Wuppertal, Am Buschhäuschen 39.jpg", "Wuppertal, Am Buschhäuschen 37, von NO.jpg" und "Wuppertal, Am Buschhäuschen 37, von SO.jpg" habe ich nun Löschanträge gestellt.
